Diapers For Diplomas

The Diapers for Diplomas Scholarship Program (“D4D”) is an initiative to help parenting students return to higher education to gain new skills, complete a degree or credential, have opportunities for meaningful, long-term career choices, and advance in the workplace.

Why A Diaper Scholarship?

Completing a degree or certificate is one of the primary pathways to economic success. But it takes time and money to go to college. 78% of our parenting students cited family responsibilities and finances as the number one challenge in pursuing their degree.

Through this scholarship program, qualifying parenting students will receive 200 diapers a month for a full academic year. This scholarship provides tangible support (free diapers) rather than money.

Who is Eligible?

To be eligible to receive the Diapers for Diplomas Scholarship you must meet the following requirements:
  • You must be the parent or guardian of child(ren) who require diapers (size NB – size 6)
  • Please note: Pull-ups are not available through this scholarship program.
  • You must be 18 years of age or older or claim "independent" on the FAFSA
  • You must be a TN Resident.
  • You are currently enrolled at one of our participating schools as a parenting student.

You must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at one of our participating schools; Austin Peay, Columbia State Community College, Middle Tennessee State University, Motlow State Community College, Nashville State Community College, TCAT Dickson, TCAT Nashville, University of TN Southern, Volunteer State Community College, or Fortis Institute (Nashville campus).

You must be ELIGIBLE for either the TN Reconnect State Financial Aid Program, the Pell Financial Aid
Grant, TN Promise or TN Hope (Note: Receiving one of these is NOT a requirement for our scholarship program.)

Disclosure: If you do not meet the above requirements, you will not be eligible to receive the Diapers for Diplomas Scholarship and your application will be discarded.

Requirements For Our Scholarship

Throughout the scholarship term, the Diapers for Diplomas scholarship requires students to…
  • Complete a "Basic Needs Assessment '' by September 30, 2026
  • Complete our “End of 2024-2025 Scholarship Program Survey” by May 31, 2027
  • Participate in at least 1 event hosted by Nashville Diaper Connection
  • Order your monthly diapers by close of business on the first of every month
  • Pick up your diapers every month from a designated location
  • Continue as a part-time or full-time student at one of the institutions listed above
